Ken & Elaine Henderson
Americus, GA
1976 Birchaven (ex)
Ken and Elaine Henderson give new meaning to making over a coach. They got their coach on the last day of April '98 in Kerrville, TX with 59,000 miles on it. They made it 875 of the 950 miles home before totaling the engine. Ever since then it has been like Ken turned into Ty Pennington on Extreme Home Makeover...The renovation starts NOW!
Here is the Birchaven when they first got her. Needs a little work, and is missing a few items like a generator door and the propane door.

The interior was standard Birchaven issue... This is the rear bath version. Looks like the prior owners had made a few subtle changes.

Then the fun began, almost immediately in fact! Ken stripped it of everything, and I mean everything...including the dust!

And the construction continues...but obviously is starting to take a new shape.

The end result is beautiful, But at least it's taken them from Key West to Fairbanks & lots of places in between in the meantime, accumulating about 80,000 more miles. The separate cabinet for the microwave is a work of art, as is the spice shelf and slide out cabinet.

The outside is a showpiece too...Here are Ken and Elaine in front of their coach...

Also, In case you were not aware, Ken markets several items, one of which I will someday own, as I think that every GMC needs this, and that is electric wipers. You can see Kens wipers and other parts here.
